HepaRG® Training

The training was co-organized by Biopredic International and Edelweiss Connect

Our October training took place on October 29th, 2019 at the Technology Park Basel. We ask you to fill out this registration form to participate.

This first training was offered without cost to a limited number of participants as a special offer. Please contact us for your suggestions and requests on training needs for future training activities. In addition to public classes, customised private training for small groups can be arranged. Submit a training request.

HepaRG® cells in both 2D and 3D cultures are promising and relevant in vitro models for prediction of hepatotoxicity. Differentiated HepaRG® cells are highly polarized with substantial levels of uptake and efflux drug transporters, at the same level as the Primary Human Hepatocyte (PHH), and form functional bile canaliculi. Cholestatic drugs can be identified in HepaRG® cells by measuring their effects on bile acid efflux (via direct inhibition of the pumps) or by interfering with the bile canaliculi dilation or contraction. Therefore, during our hands-on training, we will demonstrate HepaRG® cell culture process and drug-induced cholestatic liver injury by measuring bile canalicular dynamics. The training will cover the following sections: HepaRG® cell thawing, counting and seeding for 2D and 3D cell cultures Microscopic observation of HepaRG® cells at different stages of differentiation Functional assay: drug-induced cholestasis evaluation
